Dr. Rahima Gabulova, Associate Professor and Vice-Rector for Clinical Affairs at MITRI, has been appointed Chair of the Cardiovascular Prevention Council

The Asian Heart Society (AHS) is a regional professional medical organization dedicated to cardiovascular health in Asia. The mission of AHS is to unite cardiology specialists across Asia in order to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases and improve heart health through the standardization of clinical care, advancement of scientific research, and promotion of education.

The organization aims to disseminate the latest scientific achievements, enhance the quality of diagnostics and therapeutics, strengthen professional training, and reinforce collaborative networks among cardiologists from 30 countries across the continent. The newly elected President of the Society is the distinguished cardiologist and scientist Ali Oto.

The Society is governed by an international board and has established eight councils covering the major fields of cardiovascular medicine:

  • Interventional Cardiology
  • Hypertension
  • Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology
  • Heart Failure
  • Structural Heart Diseases
  • Cardiovascular Prevention
  • Translational and Basic Cardiovascular Science
  • Cardiovascular Surgery

These councils bring together experts from various Asian countries to promote subspecialty development, preparation of clinical guidelines, and scientific collaboration.
